thx Alix..will give shorting a 50/50 try, then all shorting. Recipe is the standard Nestle Toll-house CCC.

Oh yah, I've been chillin the dough for an hour or so before I bake em.

edit: are there weight ingredient recipes for cookies?

I tried a while ago and they came out very thin, crispy on the edges but too soft and oily overall. I might just try less shortening and more butter next time, instead of all butter. A higher temp would help, yes, Ill try that.
