You're getting too far ahead there StirBlue

lol. I think I found it in an old San Francisco cookbook. It has cornflakes in it. That sort of dates it to the 30's or 40's.

Perhaps something like this

Cornflake Biscuits
125g butter or margarine
3/4 cup (165g) sugar
1 egg
1 cup (150g) self raising flour, sifted
1 cup (175g) sultanas
cornflakes to coat
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180 dg C. Grease two baking trays. Using electric beaters, beat the butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in the egg. Fold in the flour and sultanas. Take small spoonfuls of mixture, make into balls and roll in cornflakes. Place onto prepared tray and bake for about thirty minutes.

But then, if you want a realy famous biscuit, try these

Anzac Biscuits

125g butter
1 tbsp golden syrup
2 tbsp boiling water
1 1/2 tsp bicarb soda
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup dessicated coconut
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
Method:
Preheat oven for 150 degrees celcius.

Melt butter and golden syrup over a gentle heat, then add the boiling water mixed with the bicarb soda.

Pour into the combined dry ingredients and blend well.

Flatten portions on to a shallow tray with a fork.

Bake for 10/15 minutes.

Cool on trays for a few minutes, then put on racks. They will go very crispy when cool. Store in an airtight container. Freezes well.
