I am planning on making some chocolate covered strawberries for a party in a couple weekends. I wanted to use quality chocolate and picked up some Lindt White, 70% Cocoa Baking, and Semi-Sweet Baking chocolate. I want to make sure that baking chocolate is recommended for chocolate covered strawberries, or if anything else in particular should be added to baking chocolate to make sure it comes out right. Thanks

In the grocery store where I shop, the produce department a brand called Dolci (I think) that comes in a tub. I've not done it, but one of the gals in produce dipped strawberries and put them on the salad bar during strawberry season. They were pretty good.

Add a very small amount of vegetable oil (start with a tsp or 2, depending on how large of a quantity of chocolate you're working with) to your melted chocolate. This will give the chocolate a nice, smooth and shiny look when it dries.

I'm moving this to the Candy subforum!
