Thank you all! I think (if I do this at all), I want to go with the hardened chocolate coating (using my butter flavor Crisco). I like the hard chocolate on the strawberries. I saw some strawberries at the store yesterday, but it was really too early to buy them for the weekend. If I make them I will update and let you know how they turn out!!

I'm not sure how hard your aiming for but the ganache dries to a firm consistency - not hard crack but about the consistency of fudge. In either case - post up some pics of the final product. I love lookin' at chocolate ;)

mY WIFE USES MARGARINE. i REALLY THINK EITHER OF PRODUCTS WOULD WORK WELL. Ooops, sorry about that.
I think important thing is to make sure the strawberies are good. becasue if they do nt taste good the whole job is a waste of time.

Good point! But, I am making them for a 14-year old and an 18-year old so it probably won't matter much. Although....my 18-year old seems to becoming something of a food critic lately...

When I was a kid I was moe picky than I am now. Nowadays if I buy something and it is is not as tasty as I would like, I'd eat it just so not to waiste the money. back then I could not careless.
