Hi all,

I've gotten into making my own hard candy lately. It's been great, but one thing I've noticed is that after the lollipops cool, they have a kind of sticky film that doesn't go away. Jolly Ranchers and other commercial candy doesn't seem to have this problem.

I've not yet found or a good way to wrap the candy. I tried a kind of ziplock-bag-type plastic wrapper and the candy stuck to it really bad. Would cellophane get rid of stickyness? Could it be humidity at work? Or why's it doing this, anyways?

Thanks.

Try dusting them lightly with powdered sugar.

I was thinking that or cornstarch. Lightly is the operative word, though. Also try wrapping them in wrappers designed for candy (if you have a local cake decorating store, they usually sell candy stuff, too, or a craft store, like Michael's or AC Moore). Maybe they'd work better.
