I want to make a dairy free (vanilla)ice cream but I don't want sorbe icecream.

Before when I made icecream I used sugar, cream/milk, egg ++ But my friend can't have cow cream/milk.

Does anyone have a recipe?

Maybe I can use some powder that I can order online or something like that :)

Found this one for you.

Rice and Soy Milk Vanilla Ice Cream

Cook the rice in boiling water for 5 minutes.
Drain the rice.
Mix it with the soy milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon and lemon peel.
Bring mixture to a boil.
Lower heat to medium and cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the soy cream and cook for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Take out the lemon peel and cinnamon.
Put the mixture in a blender until smooth and thick.
Pour the mixture in ice cream molds or cups and let freeze for at least 2 hours.
Serve with chocolate syrup, raspberries and chocolate wafers.

Have you tried it?
I have never like soy taste. Does it taste like soy?

Sorry, i've never tried it. I am strictly a dairy girl myself. I just Googled dairy free. I have to say it sounds like it would taste like soy otherwise they wouldn't try to disguise it with the lemon and cinnamon. If I were to try this I'd use a vanilla bean and make that flavouring very potent.

Another thought - you could try recipes for frozen yogurt, but use soy yogurt in place of conventional yogurt. It's the perfect time of year to make fruity frozen yogurt with all of the wonderful seasonal fruit out there right now. I've made a few frozen yogurt recipes from The Perfect Scoop, and they've all been wonderful.
