I want to make lemon sherbet. All the recipes I have found have milk, cream, or coconut milk. I know that the addition of dairy is what makes it sherbet and not sorbet. But, they all use a lot of dairy. Is that right? I want lemon sherbet, not lemon ice cream.

Glad it came out well for you. I've thought about making sherbet from time to time but never have.

Sounds yummy. I bet it would also work with the True Lemon powder that Janet H mentioned previously.

I've never made sherbet but let me add one of my favorite summer drinks....
one part of lime sherbet with two parts of buttermilk blended. I don't drink plain buttermilk, but blended with lime sherbet, it's wonderful.

I make sherbet and one of our favorites is cantaloupe. Delicious and it's frozen in the scooped out shell of the cantaloupe. Nice presentation, too.
That does sound like a nice presentation (and it saves on dishwashing). Do you mind sharing your recipe?
