I was shopping at Von's here in Hermosa Beach, California, this afternoon. Von's is part of the Safeway family of supermarkets.
They had flat-cut brisket for $4.49 a pound. The briskets averaged about 4 to 5 pounds each, but there's no bone and not a great deal of fat -- it's mostly lean, flavorful beef.
