Grilled Bacon Burgers

Sometimes I like to stuff swiss cheese inside each of my burgers. Make it your own by using any flavor Jimmy Deans Sausage. I would love to try the sage flavored but my husband does not care for it.

GRILLED BACON BURGERS

1 pound(s) JIMMY DEAN SAUSAGE; Regular Flavor.
1 pound(s) GROUND BEEF; Lean.
6 slice(s) BACON; Peppered Hickory Smoked
1 clove(s) (large) GARLIC; Minced.
1 teaspoon(s) ONION FLAKES; Dehydrated.
BLACK PEPPER; To Taste.
TOOTHPICKS

Mix sausage, ground beef, onion, garlic and pepper together.
Form into 6 patties.
Wrap bacon around burgers and secure with a toothpick.
Place on a greased BBQ grill.
Cook until done.
I usually cook mine for about 30 minutes over a low heat.
I do brown it first then turn down the heat.

Whatever the name, Hamburger Steak, Chuck Wagon Steak, Bacon Burgers etc, etc it's all good eats, and a great idea with lots of room for creativity.

Before we could afford real steak, we had those and called them Mock Filets. We would cover them with sauteed mushrooms, serve a baked potatoe on the side, and that was our "steak dinner." That picture looks great. Now I must make them again :).
