I bought a 1-3/4 lbs top round roast but I don't know how to cook it. My BH&G cookbook only gave me the insight to roast it but no recipes for flavoring or seasoning. Any ideas are welcome!

I'm pretty casual when I do roasts. I season it and pop it in the oven in a roasting pan about 350* for 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on size. I sprinkle it with garlic powder, onion powder, generous pepper and some soya sauce (both for the salt and as a darkener for the gravy I'll make when it's done. Use whatever spices you like. I also put a bit of water in the bottom of the pan. I don't know if this is the "proper" way to do it, but this is how I'd always seen it done and I do it.
