Spices for corned beef & cabbage

I know I'm late for St. Patrick's Day, but was away, and having mine tonight instead, but this corned beef round didn't come with the usual spice packet....and I don't have any pickling spice in the house, is there any other spices I can use? Thanks

Send a message via Yahoo to Barb L.
Wink

If you don't have the spices, just put a bay leaf, pepper corns and a few onions in the broth, I throw in a few garlic cloves too. Good luck !

In addition to what Barb L. puts in hers, I add mustard seed, whole cloves and rosemary.
