Actually, it sounds incredibly tasty. Oh, and if that weren't enough on it's own, it comes with a side of gravy!! Is there nothing we Americans won't deep fry?

I used to know a couple or three old cooks here that was doing the "County Fried Bacon"
Actually they were using salt pork that had sat in water over night to remove some of the salt. Never saw/ate it with gravy however. It used to be a hit at deer camp!

My ex MIL used to buy side pork, which is used to make bacon, and fry it up like that. I think the bacon would have more flavor.

Can someone post a simple batter recipe here that you think would work? I never got into the whole eggwash, bisquick or whatever thing and am quite clueless in this respect..... and others
