Pork Chops Pizzaiola

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

6 pork chops -- cut 1-inch thick
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic -- minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup dry red wine
1/4 teaspoon oregano
2 green peppers -- cut in thin slices
1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
3 Italian sausage -- sliced

Trim the fat off the chops and rub chops with a mixture of the salt,
pepper and garlic. Let stand 15 minutes. Heat oil in a skillet, brown the
chops on both sides.
Add the tomato sauce, wine, oregano, green peppers and mushrooms; cover
and cook over low heat for 25 minutes or until chops are tender. Brown the
sausage in another pan, drain, and add to skillet. Cook 10 minutes longer.
Taste for seasoning.

Serves 6

ok 13, you only have 5 posts so far, and the first 2 i've read are awesome recipes, making my mouth water. i absolutely LOVE pork chops pizzaiola (ok, anything pizzaiola). never tried the extra sausage thing. looks good.

i've made this with hot peppers with equal success.
 
Well I'll have to try some hot peppers next time...we don't mind alittle heat. Bet it really zips this recipe up.
