Sausage Gravy
  • 1 lb sage-flavored bulk pork sausage (Jimmy Dean Sage style)
  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped onion
  • 6 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 qt milk
  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Pillsbury Grand Biscuits (bake according to directions on can, cool & slice)

  • Crumble sausage into a large saucepan; cook over medium-low heat
  • Add onion, cook & stir until transparent
  • Drain, discarding all but 2 Tbsp of drippings
  • Stir in flour, cook over medium-low heat about 6 minutes or until mixture bubbles and turns light brown
  • Stir in milk, add seasonings
  • Cook, stirring until thickened
To serve, put on top of sliced biscuits or home maid-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KFC Biscuits


Preheat oven to 400° to 450°
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup club soda
  • 2-1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 5 cups Bisquick

  • Combine all ingredients. Knead until smooth.
  • Pat dough to 3/4 to 1" thick.
  • Cut in squares or use round cutter.
Bake on greased cookie sheet about 12 minutes or until golden brown.
 
Biscuits and gravy are my absolute FAVORITE things to have for breakfast!
