Suckling pig prices
$6.99 lb?
![]() You would think it would be cheaper since there's little butchering involved. |

have you never watched "charlotte's web", nor babe, jeeks?
![]() tasty little stories of supply and demand. i guess you can only raise so many baby pigs for sale as such, thus affecting their price. the rest become sheep pigs, or are famous.

20-29 lb pig...$80.00 Flat rate...So......$4.00/lb on the low side......$2.76/lb. on the high side....about $3.40 Avg per pound.....Larger pigs slightly higher....
$6.99 lb.?? Seems a little high!

Specialty item. Butcher wants to make a killing (to coin a phrase).

Not sure where you are in NJ, but I'd bet that if there's anywhere that you'd find one cheaper it would be Jersey City. Lots of filipinos there and filipinos love their lechon. If you're close to JC at all, try looking up a few places around there for price comparisons.
