Accents?

Was brought up in Brooklyn but never developed a Brooklyn or New York accent.

People could not tell where I was from by listening to me, thanks to my parents.

But used to pick up accents readily when talking to people, I try not to do that anymore.

As for the Scottish accent, I'm not sure what one is.

When I speak to a real Scot, they politely speak so that I can understand them.

But when I overhear two Scots speaking together, I cannot understand a word they are saying.

Y'all is such a part of my everyday speech that I don't think I could ever go without saying it. I guess it's just in my blood.
