I just had to share the news with y'all!! The other night I saw a commercial for Harrah's Cherokee Casino in NC & Big & Rich is going to be there on May 28th. Well, I asked hubby if we could go figuring that since we are broke the answer would be no. Well, he never gave me an answer. He just called me a few minutes ago & he got 2 tickets on the floor for the show!!! He was on the phone with the lady & she said they were sold out. Well, someone called & cancled while he was on the phone with her & he got the tickets. He told me that since we didn't exchange gifts for our anniversary that this is our present. I can't wait!!:w00t2: I have a wonderful hubby!!

There was a Memorial Day pow wow the year we went to Cherokee for our anniversary. You could probably check with the museum to verify , if interested. Pow Wows are fun.

That's GREAT, crewsk. I love big and rich(and cowboy troy):)

Your husband is very thoughtful. Mine just started getting that way, and it only took 20 years:LOL:

I'll check that out Rainee, thanks!

Texasgirl, we had a tree frog for a couple of days(we caught it & let it go) & the kids named it Cowboy Troy!:ROFLMAO: Both of my kids know Save A Horse by heart. I love Big & Rich too & had told hubby earlier this year if he ever took me to see them I would be the happiest girl on earth! Well, guess what? I'm well beyond happy!! Mine can be thoughtful on occasion but most of the time forgets how.

I understand completely!
I got a new wedding ring for my 20th. I've had 2 and they were both stolen by "so called friends". I haven't had one for 15 years. We couldn't afford it. He is also the kind that would rather give me money to get whatever for myself, b-days, x-mas etc.. this time, he went and got it all by himself and surprised me. He is mellowing in his 40's.

How wonderful for you!!!! What a nice hubby you have!!
You'll have a great time and make some fun memories together.

LOL texasgirl! My hubby took me to pick out my Mother's Day present this year! That was fine with me but I like to be surprised on occasion too. I don't get many surprises from mine but when I do, they usually make me totally speechless (well, at least for a few seconds:LOL: )!

Thanks pdswife! Unfortunately we aren't going to get to stay the night but I don't care. I'm just happy to be going with hubby. The show starts at 6 or so & he said we'd go up early enough to look around & stuff.

I'm so excited for you. I love Big & Rich. Their performance on the Country Music Award Show was amazing. I'm sure they'll have one heck of a stage setting and show. Let us know how it was.
I haven't been to a concert for gosh probably 6 years.............ZZ Top. I remember when I first started listening to country music.....my gosh about about 12 years ago I was in awe of Vince Gill. I heard he was coming to our local Arena and I went there in the middle of the night with lounge chair and blanket in hand and camped out. I was like the 4th person in line. I was able to get 2nd row seating and was one happy girl. Funny but I don't particularly care for his music anymore :)
Now if Keith Urban came...........you bet I'd be camping out again!

Sizz, I saw the CMA show & it was great! I'll never forget the first time I saw them on TV. I was laughing so hard I was crying!! They we're just so outragous & diffrent from what I was used to. But, I have loved them ever since! The only concerts I have ever been to were Christian groups & I was with our church's youth group at the time(about 10-15 yrs. ago). I've never even stepped foot inside a casino before either, so I have no clue what to expect.

Your going to have a blast! I really like the group also........outrageous they are. I look for them to be coming around to our area this year sometime. In Champaign-Urbana, IL they get a lot of the big names. I only like to go there though if I can get close to the stage because the arena is so darn huge and I don't particularly like being at a concert and having to watch the performance on the big screen because they are too far away to really see. And binoculars become annoying after awhile. Have fun!

oh man crewsk i wish my bf was more like your hubby. you're such a lucky woman. hope you have a great time !! you know you'll have to report back to us about the show right ?? lol

Bloke Bashing is alive and well........

We're not as bad as all that.

Love concerts, love country music, never been to a legal casino.

Enjoy your night out Crewsk, should be fun to enjoy it with your best & finest. :)

LOL Brooksy! I know you're not all like that. My dear hubby has his shining moments & it makes me love him all the more.

I'm planning on having a great time out with him, just dreading the drive up there. I don't travel well, so I know there will be Dramamine waiting for me before we leave! Luckly it's only about an hour drive.

Yeah, some of us guys are decent! I've never forgotten or missed an anniversary yet! This year, it's row 6 right in front of the stage for Brian Wilson's (the beach boy guy, my wife LOVES the beach boys) Smile tour the day before, and then the next morning it's onto the plane for a few days in Vegas!
Plus, her birthday is next week, and she doesn't know it yet, but she's getting a full day package at the spa... (I didn't need the money for that computer upgrade, anyways... )

John

Have a great time crewsk!!!!! An hour isn't so bad, I thought it would have been further for you - I can't remember exactly where Cherokee is - I think it's about 2 hours from us.

Have fun kiddo!

John, if only all men(well at least the forgetful ones) could be more like you! I can honestly say that my hubby has never forgotten our anniversary or my birthday. I usually don't remember his b-day until the day before. I should be really ashamed of myself for that since it's on Sept.11.

Elf, I do good to ride in a car for 30 minutes without getting queezy. Unfortuantly I passed that trait on to TC. An hour isin't really all that bad, we went to Clover, SC up near York & it took us about an hour & 45 minutes.
