Just wondering if anyone had some creative ideas for using old and unwanted CDs. I googled and found a few, but am interested to hear any other ideas.

Some I've come across were;
Inserting a cheap battery operated clock mechanism into the centre hole for a decorative kitchen clock.

Hanging them from your fruit trees to scare the birds away from ripening fruit.

Glueing small peices of cork on the printed side to use as drink coasters (shiny side up).

Cutting them into shapes for Christmas decorations on the tree, eg stars, stockings etc. Please note; this is not a job for the children, as there will be glass-like residue shards. Its also recommended that safety glasses and a respiratory mask be worn. Also lightly sand any cut edges to remove residue shards.

Any other ideas?

my brother is a technological genius, and he just laughed and said frisbee, target practice, and coasters. pitch 'em. they're practially free today.
