Sush, now I know why black beans are my favorite of all. De-gas the beans. A method used by my grandmother is: put beans in a saucepan and cover with cool water, bring to a boil and simmer until skins begin to wrinkle. Put pan in sink and add 1-3 Tbs baking soda, stir with a wooden spoon, and watch the weird shaded foam (mostly black with the black beans) but with the other beans the foam is anywhere from an ivory shade to dark green. When the foaming stops, put beans in a collander and rinse well, continue cooking per recipe.

Yuck :!: I never liked milk on my cereal. I have used pineapple juice, orange juice, apple cider, and cranberry juice on my cereal since I was a kid.
