Broccoli Cheese Soup

2 tbsp onions
2tbsp butter
3 tbsp flour
2 c. milk
1 c. cheese (Cheddar or Cheddar/American)
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 1/2 c boiling water
1 (10 oz) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli

Saute the onion in butter and cook until brown. Add flour. Add milk, cheese, seasonings. Cook broccoli in the bouillon and water mixer until tender. Add to sauce, and serve.

The only broccoli and cheese soup I have ever had that I liked whether home made, at a restaurant, or in a can is the one at Quiznos. I don't see carrot in this recipe. Have you ever added carrot?

I have never added carrot, but I think that it might be a good addition! I'll have to try that next time I make it. I like this recipe, and I also like the broccoli cheese soup at McAlister's.
