Hey everyone. I am looking for a Recipe for tomato soup ^_^

other than cambells can.

thanks for any help on this one.

My basic tomato Soup recipe:
When I say "cans", they are the basic ones you can find in the store

2 cans diced tomatoes, with juice
2 cans ground tomatoes
2 cans chicken stock
1 can tomato paste
1 pint heavy cream
2 T Sugar
Salt/Pepper To Taste

Simmer diced tomatoes, ground tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken stock, and sugar for 30 minutes.

Puree mixture, transfer to large bowl/container, whisk heavy cream, and season.
You could add anything else you like to flavor.
This is just basic.

Hey! Tell us if you made one and give us your feedback. Sometimes there is nothing more comforting than a great bowl of tomato soup.

Tomato Soup

2 Tb Olive oil
1/4 Lb Pancetta – diced
1 Carrot - diced
1 Onion - diced
1 Celery - diced
2 Garlic - minced
2 Tb Flour
4 C Chicken broth
16 Oz Tomato
1/2 Tb Thyme
1/2 Tb Rosemary
1/2 Tb Cumin
1 tsp Chili Powder
TT Salt & Pepper

Saute the pancetta in the oil until the fat is rendered and the lean is browned.

Sauté the vegetables in the fat over medium high heat until they begin to brown.

Add the flour and cook for two - three minutes.

Add the broth and deglaze the pan.

Add the tomato, herbs and spices.

Cook for 30 - 45 minutes.

Use a blender or hand blender to puree the soup.

Strain to remove the rosemary.

I haven't made this, but it looks good.

Tomato Basil Soup

Ingredients:
8 to 10 tomatoes, peeled, cored and chopped, or 4 c canned crushed
tomatoes
4 c tomato juice or part tomato juice, part chicken or vegetable stock
12 to 14 fresh basil leaves
1 c heavy cream
1/2 c (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Over medium heat, combine tomatoes and juice in a large saucepan and
simmer for 30 minutes. In a food processor, combine tomato mixture and
basil leaves in several small batches and process until smooth. Return
blended mixture to saucepan over low heat. Stir in cream and butter,
then season with salt and pepper. Continue stirring over low heat
until soup is heated through. Serves 8.

A small sandwich shop in our area made the best Tomato Bisque. They had it every Tuesday when I was working. I ate it every week and asked for the recipe, but they wouldn't part with it. They are out of business now, so I suppose I will never know just how they made it.

A real winter heartwarmer...

I came across this thread a little bit late (now that Spring is here/approaching), but I recently had an amazing tomato soup that was made with a rather strange ingredient: Gin.

Unfortunately I have no details about how this soup was eventually made to taste so fantastic, but I can say it was a pleasant surprise. I would be curious if anyone has a recipe using gin or other alcohol in soups...
