Jalapeno Soup

JALAPENO SOUP

3/4 c. chopped fresh jalapenos
4 zucchini
2 lg. potatoes
4 tomatillos
1 bunch cilantro, chopped
1 gal. chicken stock
1 tsp. cumin
Salt and white pepper to taste
1 c. flour
1 pt. milk

To chicken stock add all ingredients, except flour and milk, and bring to a boil,then simmer for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Let cool at least 30 minutes.
Blend together the flour and milk and whisk until smooth, then puree everything together.

Luckytrim,

Do you need a gal of chicken broth in the recipe? Along with a pt of milk sounds like a lot of liquid. I would use half the flour and no milk but serve with a big dallop of sour cream.

original recipe called for 12 cups of broth, but i adjusted to get a thinner soup

i've used MORE milk, but not less, so give it a try......

and the sour cream works well !

What do you do with the flour?

You don't cook it into a roux? Just dump it into the soup? A whole cup?
