One of the best tomato soup recipes was from tyler florence on the food network.From the show how to boil water. Very tasty and easy. It finishes with a cream and its delicious. find at food network under how to boil water he does it as a comfort food show i believe.
To help with acid in tomato soups and sauce a touch of sugar makes a big difference.

Hey Ironchef! You seem very knowledgeable and was wondering if you could help me out. I’m a chef student and was given ingredients for a tomato soup, but I come up with the method. Here it is…
8pc. Tomatoes, fresh
50g. tomatoes paste
1pc onion
1stalk celery
2cloves
1 sprig basil, fresh
Chicken stock
Spice bag

Now I have an idea on how to put this together. I just have a few questions. For example, would I add the garlic? into the spice bag, or sweat it with the onions? Also for the spice bag, would I have thyme, bay leaf, anything else? And how much stock do you think I need for a recipe of this size? Any helpful tips would be SO APPRECIATED!
