Cabbage Roll Casserole

Cabbage Rolls The Easy Way


1 small head cabbage
1 lb. hamburger
1 small onion, minced (optional)
1 cup minute Rice uncooked
1 lg can spaghetti sauce (26 ozs.)
salt & pepper to taste
garlic & onion powder to taste

Chop cabbage into large pieces.
Place 1/2 cabbage into a greased baking pan.
Brown hamburger, onion, & seasonings; drain
Add rice to hamburger and stir until rice turns clear.
Put rice and hamburger on top of cabbage.
Place rest of cabbage over hamburg mixture.
Pour spaghetti sauce over all.
Cover andBake at 300* about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
(until cabbage is tender and sauce is fairly well absorbed.)

Great Cabbage Roll Casserole Recipe!

Hi Dove - great recipe!! I believe you were asking for a crockpot version of this also? I posted one for you - just click on the link below. You might still be able to do it in casserole form for easier preparation.

My thanks to all, :)
I am trying to find quick ways for my very busy sis in In. to use her crock pot.

Could she bypass the pre cooking of the ground beef? She uses top serloin, not that makes it any different. Maybe in the taste I guess.

Hi Marge,

I assume you don't cook the ground beef in the crockpot version (link above). That's the way I read it anyway.
