I have never tried using Great Northern beans before. I purchased some to cook in the crockpot (which luckily still works just fine). What I wanted to do was find a recipe to use that I could cook the beans and use Bratwurst sausage for the meat. Any suggestions on seasonings and so forth?

Thanks

I'm afraid I don't have any ideas, but hopefully someone will have some for you soon. You probably don't want to use anything too overpowering. I know when I add a ham bone to beans I don't usually season it with much more than a little garlic and pepper, and of course I put onion in too. I've never tried it with Bratwurst.

Barbara, I have cooked beans and brats together and they are good. Follow the recipe on the bean package and add the brats. I added the brats after the beans were about halfway done. You can add the onions and garlic in the beans at the beginning.
