hallo,
Well eh, I'm a bad Flemish cook from Belgium and my english comes out a dictionary (so also bad). Perhaps I can learn both here?
I work parttime in a rest-home with demented elderly and the other parttime I give computerlessons to seniors.
I've 2 girls, 2 boys and 1 man who are (just like me) bad cooks and bad in english (or other languages):(

Hi, Flemisch Girl - welcome to DC :) We'll have you cooking better in no time, and your English is just fine. Better than my Flemish, for sure ;)

Welcome!
It is nice to meet you.
It sounds like you are a busy lady!
What types of food would you like to learn how to cook?

Welcome Flemish Girl.

4 kids huh, I say you simply have no time to learn how to cook, I bet thouse 4 kids take a lot of your time. So you have a perfect exuse. You see my English is also not so great, I am from Ukraine. I do know how to cook thing or two and this place definitely helps to learn more.

Thanks everybody for your reactions. And yes, I'm a busy person, that's how I was raised: always on the run. Now, eating, food and so cooking were never getting my special attentions. I just do what is needed. Of course that my kids have not more interests in cooking! But everybody around me (colleagues) seems specialists in cooking. I never can tell something "special" in conversations... so I want to try making (or cooking) something little and unknown here in Belgium and surprise everyone and myself... That's why I was searching in cookingfora on internet and came here)
Someone a suggestion?
thanks & greets
Flemish Girl

Welcome to DC, FG!!!

Hey, I'm from Nebraska and my english isn't so great either. Luckily, language proficiency is'nt required here!!

While I'm not elderly (although I'm not far off) I'm pretty sure dymensia is starting to set in, so if I have any questions and can remember them maybe you can help me out!!
