First time visitor and newbie cook

Hey everyone!

This is my first time on the site and it looks like there's a vibrant community of food lovers here. I'm a 20 something male trying to learn how to make edible meals for the myself and the girlfriend. I'm okay with baking and BBQ'ing meats, everything else is below satisfactory. Hope to learn a ton from here on my way to becoming a great amateur chef (or something like that).

Ever have a question on an ingredient (or anything for that matter), feel free to ask. I feel that, for the most part we will all have some sort of advice

Welcome!! I am new to DC too and am absolutely loving it so far. I've been cooking for about a year and a half since my mid-19's. Enjoy! :]
