Glad I've found this site

I can't really cook as mom-in-law is in-charge in the kitchen. But I love collecting recipes & experimenting them. Love baking especially.

I was trying to find out what's "shortening", & so landed in this site. Umm.. still in search of "shortening"... but think will make this post first.

Welcome to the site. We are so happy you joined.

Shortening is a type of fat. It is solid at room temperature.

Welcome threeangelsmum. You will find tons or recipes here that you'll want to experiment with. Whenever a recipe asks for shortening I always use Crisco.

A big welcome to DC!!! You'll love it here, I know that I sure do. I second ABJ, Crisco is a great brand of shortening.
