I just discovered this place. Was looking for info for using masa as a thickening agent, i.e. masa/liquid ratio.

Very strange. I hang out at a musicians forum that uses the identical forum software. (almost 12,000 posts there. *embarassed*. Feels just like home here. Of course, there are a bunch of adolecents and idiots there (musicians:rolleyes:).

Anyway, hello.

Hi and Welcome aboard. BTW, I use masa to thicken but tex mexish soups/stews.

Actually, I was going to use maza to thicken a chili. But it was a huge disappointment. I had made this chili with a from-scratch chili powder that included pimenton, had I bit of very small dice andoullie in the chili. Was just the most wonderful, rich, deep, smoky broth. Adding the masa completely muted out the flavor.:furious:
