Hi,

Where do I begin? For many years, each New Year's I would make a resolution to become a better cook, in the family tradition. My father was a professional chef, and my grand-mothers, both French-Canadian, were fabulous cooks.

Finally, three years ago, I took the plunge — about the same time I began writing a weekly food column. Now I have a blog and I cook for that (and my husband). I like traditional French, Italian and American food, a bit on the rustic side, that has been trimmed a bit, so it's healthy. At certain times of the year I crave other types of food, too, like Chinese in witer and Mexican in summer. And did I mention chocholate?

I'm looking forward to learning a lot here.

Mimi

Welcome to the DC family! Here you will find nice recipes, nice topics and nice and helpful members.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I live in Northeast Wisconsin, Brad — also known as the tundra. Brr.

It certainly is active — I am a bit overhwelmed with all the threads, but I'll get over it.

I like the idea of having a place to turn to for advice when my cooking goes awry.
