Hey Everyone
Yes kitchenelf Charlotte NC and yes David I have not found a good Jamaican Pattie don't get me started with Roti. I don't know where these guys learned to cook patties and roti but its plain they don't have a good reference as in they never eat one I asked one cook if he was going to serve goat water during a festival downtown and he told me it was a seasoning.
The recipe I tried was doomed from the start and it was my fault for trying it. It is the standard one you find all over the net. Clearly when it asked for a small onion, did not specify Jamaican curry or even include allspice I should have stayed home. You know what they say go big or go home. But I wanted a pattie, it was 2 AM and the wife { she whose name must not be mentioned} was in the mood for something spicy. Being and old Aggie, class of 75 you do something if its wrong and it was wrong.
All the best

Hello and welcome to DC! Not sure I am brave enough to try making a pattie, let alone a variation on one. But sometimes its more fun to try than always succeed. I learn the most from my mistakes.
