You will absolutely love it here. This is the friendliest site I've ever been a part of, and I've been a part of many sites over the years. I too am an amature chef (of my own kitchen that is) and love to cook, create new things, and exchange information about cooking. And like you, I have a blog where I'm teaching people to cook. I'm from the chilly midwest as well, in Upper Peninsula Michigan, on the Canadian border.
