Hi fellow food lovers

I love good and unusual food. I live in the sticks. I've found that the best way to satisfy my yearning is make it myself. I'm not an experienced cook, but I have good taste in most everything including food.

I looked around a bit before I joined. This place seems to be neither too snooty nor too the oposite. I like the rules. They are quite specific and strict.

I'm here so I can learn.

Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all. Except for a piece of good Jewish Rye bread toast in the morning I only eat one meal a day. My stomach tells me when it is time. It is now time. I defrosted some coq au vin I made with a Julia Child recipe I found on line somewhere. It is very very good. Coq au van always is but this is the best I have ever made.

Tomorrow I'm trying a Cannelloni recipe an Italian guy on a Discus fish forum gave me. I've never made that before but his instructions were excellent and it sounds delicious.

Monday I will make an out of this world Jambalaya. It's another recipe I found on the internet but I use homemade seafood stock. It makes all the difference in the world!

I only cook on my days off. I am just me alone and I don't mind eating leftovers for two or three days in a row and putting the rest in the freezer. But the freezer is getting low on choices. It's time to stock up on well cooked meals that freeze well.

Next weekend I may make Dolmas. I got that recipe from a Greek guy on a tropical fish forum. I spend the entire morning in the kitchen rolling them up but I feel the craving coming upon me. I bought some canned ones on Amazon a while back. They sucked. My home made ones are to die for, and they freeze well :)

Hi fellow food lovers

Welcome to DC! You will have to post your dolmas recipe.

You appear to be another pet fan, what kinds of tropical fish do you keep?

How did you figure out that I'm a pet fan? God help me, I own 7 dogs, 2 horses, and a cat. I own a little hole in the wall dog grooming shop which is how I make a living. I find grooming satisfying because I have a good eye and I know how to make the best of what I am presented with.

I'm a breeder but I no longer breed warm blooded animals. I have an 20X20 fish room with mostly huge grow out tanks and a few breeding tanks. I love Discus best. I breed Angle fish, too.

I figured you were into tropical fish, but had no idea about the rest! Wow!
