I too hate my glass stove top!!!

I had to buy new cookware for it, still cycles off and on, heat is uneven. Food takes forever to cook. I don't trust it to fry chicken, because it would take forever. I have to bake everything !! which is healthier!! Can't wait for it to die, so I can get a gas stove!!!!

enameling is applied to metal pans (cast iron and heavy steel) at over 1000*F. To thin pans like speckle ware it is electrobathed. Assuming you are talking about reasonably heavy pans from the RR collection, I don't think the pan or the range will be hurt. My sis has a glass top and uses several enameled Dansk pans etc on it.

Why not cover the glass cooktop with a couple of large wooden cutting boards, to make some counter space that you don't need to worry about, then use a two-burner countertop cooker with your new pans?

Don't know why your new pans would be unusable for a glasstop cooker, unless they are uneven or scratchy in some way. But I'd believe the warning, especially since the stovetop belongs to the landlord.
