I'm an Aussie, mate...
Susie and I are proud to announce the birth our first Grandchild. Skye Eleanora was born at 1945 14th February 2005, weighing 8lb 40ozs, 20"long. Mother and baby are doing well after Skye shocked all, even medical staff - she was supposed to be a boy (by all scans & diagnostics, except emnio).

Although Skye was born with a few problems, specialists are confident of a full and complete recovery.

We have been driving 100 miles each way, each day with long visits which has left me wrecked so my apologies for not making the announcement earlier (I'm not a snob). Our daughter really needs her Mum at this time.

Just quietly - YIPPEE

We''l be off again shortly.

awwwwwwww - Happy Birthday Skye - and congratulations Brooksky and Mrs. Brooksky and everyone - I hope Skye progresses well. I will keep her in my prayers.

Thanks guys.

Congrats, Gramps

Haven't thought about my title yet, might say nothing & she can fall into line with everyone else & just call me "Brooksy".  "Grumpy Brooksy" has been mentioned.

"It's not as much fun getting them out as it is putting them in" is a quote our daughter won't forget in a hurry.

I should have said "Great Grandmother, Grandmothers, Mother and Daughter ALL doing fine". Luckily we only had Susie there in person, but the phones wouldn't stop ringing from the others until the final event.

Brooksy, Our grandson calls my husband Papa. I love that name. He is my only grandchild and he is 16 years old. It feels like just yesterday I was changing his diapers. Love every moment Brooksy, Time will fly.

awww congrats brooksy. i'm glad everyone is doing okay

Thanks Middie. I give her all the energy I can. All fine, just waiting for Susie to get back from town before we're off again. Used this time to log on and tell you all about the arrival of a "Little Aussie Breeder". :D :D

All the other Granddads out there will probably agree that at this time one feels so powerless and out of the loop, having to look on and support all those inimately involved. I suppose that comes with the age. Give you time to really listen, think, analyse and act correctly, get the right things and say the right words.

When one of the specialists was examining Skye, all the women (4) (Father as well) were allowed to stay but poor old Brooksy was booted out. Oh well .

Probably for the best - his name was Dr Ho, so Brooksy was pacing the hallway singing"Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work we go........." to the amusement of the Nurses.

I do and will Wasabi. Thanks.

What are the chances of changing him today? :D

Erin is keen on just Pa, Useless (Father) likes Pop, Susie likes Granddad, our Son likes Old Fool (or F**t) . For me, Brooksy will do. All depends what they decide on for other Granddad, then I'll fall into line with another.

Must have looked funny Middie, but how else was I supposed to protest?

Brooksy,
When Kevin was born, John was 17. He was a big help to me and one day I said "Kev needs changing..John said I'll do it...think I'll change him into a Frog.

Sounds like you've got 2 fine young men Dove. Great stuff. Don't forget to tell Kev about it on his wedding day.

Looking at your Avatar, you appear to have similar 'extra youngsters' to us. We leave our 'extended family' lock up at home when we go to the hospital, so we have to come home each day rather than staying near the hospital.

Congrats, Brooksy...my mother-in-law keeps telling me there is no better bond than Grandparents and Grandchildren!!!

Enjoy EVERY precious moment!!!!

Congratulations, Brooksy. I bet that you are really proud. SC
