New member from England

I was referred here by a friend and have read the board rules and agree to them.

I am Greek from the Dodecanese islands. My late mother taught me to cook. I joined D.C to learn more and make friends.

Thank you,
Poppi Georgina

Hi Poppi, welcome to DC. You'll love it here. We have a really great group of people and wonderful recipe ideas.

Dodecanese Islands. Am I correct in thinking it means 12 islands?

What are some of your favorite local dishes that you enjoy making?

Hi, thank you for your welcome.

The Dodecanese has indeed 12 islands but also 150 smaller Greek islands in the Aegian.

'Local' dishes I take you mean my Kalymnian counterpart? In this, they would be simple food like pulses, soups, salads, stews but some lovely British desserts of which I am particularly fond of the trifles.
