I use Tabasco a lot beacuse it's available in most restaurants, however I do prefer Louisiana Gold Pepper Sauce. To me Tabasco has a vinegar-up-front taste; Louisiana Gold's vinegar taste seems to take a back seat to the pepper flavor.

This is not to be confused with Louisiana Hot Sauce (http://www.brucefoods.com/lahs/index.html), which I find has a good flavor, but lacks the heat I like in Louisiana Gold (http://www.brucefoods.com/lagoldsite/index.html).

Franks is the only one I've ever used so I can't compare. I do plan on picking up Texas Pete next time I find a Trader Joe's.....Paula Dean recommends it.

My current favourites are "El Campesino", which my wife picked up in California. It's described as "La Salsa más Picante del Mundo" ( The hottest sauce in the World) and is made with Red Habaneros. 1 drop is enough for me, and I eat cayenne peppers like peanuts.
Then there's Sari´s "Hot Sauce" from Guayana. Yellow ( must be Scotch Bonnets and Mustard) with a nice flavour and good kick.
I've yet to try the "Blazing Inferno Island Pepper Sauce" from Barbados ( also in the cupboard) or the "El Yucateco" Habanero sauce. Both look suitably evil...!

Everyone is going to think this is weird, because I swear I'm the only one who likes this kind better, but I love the green tomatoe sauce.
