The SPAM eating capital of the world.
You can pretty much serve this with anything from Fried Calamari to Grilled Pork Chops.

Ponzu-Shiso Remoulade

Yield: Approx. 2 cups

Ingredients:

1 1/3 c. Mayonnaise
2/3 c. store bought Ponzu Sauce
3-4 Shallots or 1/2 med. Red Onion, roughly chopped
10 Shiso Leaves, roughly chopped
1 Tbsp. Fresh Ginger, finely chopped
1/4 c. Scallions (white and green parts), finely chopped
2-3 cloves fresh Garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. Togarashi Shichimi or Cayenne Pepper
Kosher salt to taste

Method:

In a food processor or blender, combine all of the ingredients and blend until incorporated. Season to taste with kosher salt, and refrigerate until service.

thanks for the link and the substitute. My garden beds are running wild with weeds right now, but I will ponder this addition.

There is a fairly substantial Asian population in these parts and I just may be able to find these at the not-too-far-away global foods market.

If you've eaten sushi at a good sushi restaurant, chances are you've at least seen shiso leaves, as they're often used as garnish on sushi plates.
