Well.... my 3 tomato plants are producing more than I can eat! I saw a recipe on Good Eats about making roasted tomato sauce. Can the finished product be frozen? I'm thinking of storing it just like I do my stock. In 1 cup increments in zip bags. Laid flat and frozen.

Has anyone tried this and does it work?

Absolutely, Yes!

We all do that regularly. Sauce takes a long time to make so it's worthwhile to make a lot and freeze it.

Awesome guys!! Thanks so much.... you know what would be neat... a quick answer board or something that you really don't have to make a post. I kinda felt bad making a post of this cuz I am pretty sure it has been asked at some point.

Again, thanks!!! I am soooo looking forward to this!!!

Sattie, For the extra special best tomato on the plants....I clean with a paper towel, wrap in plastic wrap and drop in a small plastic bage (just enough for one tomato...store in freezer.

And I also do all of the suggestions already listed. FREEZE and enjoy later.
