There is no real reason to expect lower quality products from companies that make different products.
It doesn't matter that Conair bought the Cuisinart small appliance business. They bought the expertise as well.
Viking may make sewing machines, snow blowers and chain saws, but they also make stoves and cookware as well as kitchen appliances. The success or failure of one product does not predict the success or failure of the others.
These days, big companies get bigger buy purchasing other companies in areas they are interested in. If the products they are buying are good and they are smart, they will leave them alone.
