Halogen Toaster Oven Won't Brown

I recently bought a GE 169104 Quartz/Halogen toaster oven. For some reason I can’t get food to brown. Most foods broiled or baked end up with a pastel tan or beige color instead of the rich golden brown you get from a conventional toaster oven. Increasing the temp or allowing food to cook longer only over cooks it.

I take it Ross you are doing as per the manual when you use it. (Not a great manual though and a troubleshooting page wouldn't have hurt them!) If you are, I'd just contact GE for assistance or refund.

LOL - somethings just aren't tested as well as they ought before they are marketed I guess!

Quartz Halogen toaster oven? Is that kind of like an easy-bake oven?

Yeah, except the easy bake oven worked a lot better.
