I saw 6 quart in Macy's the other day for $300 but there is a $50 dollar rebate if you buy it before the 31-st of this month.

I think that's a really good deal, plus with the rebate your net cost will be $219. I was looking at that mixer a couple of months ago at the Costco Business Center.
The 5.5 quart mixer is a Costco exclusive, plus you get the big motor which only comes with their 6 quart units.

Costco always tries to offer something different from anyone else in their bundles or sets.

We bought ours from Costco probably 17 years ago or so, and paid about $225 for it as I recall. So, when inflation gets figured into the mix, I'd have to say that's a great price.

We bought ours about 15 years ago and initially didn't use it for much other than occasional baking (probably a bit of overkill as the mixer is very high quality and heavy duty).

Over the last few years, since our son was born, we've used it more and more. We use it still for baking but also for making roti (or Indian style naans). It's cut down prep-time for that one item alone by at least an hour as previously my wife would knead the dough by hand.

You have to go to Hobart for one that size and make sure you have the dedicated space for it. They are about 3 feet tall.

That's the one...I've worked with many, but only in restaurants and bakeries.
