Exclamation My new bread maker

I have recent purchased a Panasonic SD 257 bread maker. I have no problems (so far) with the bread I am making but am wondering about the performance of the machine. During the kneading process the paddle stops and starts. There is no particular pattern in the timing of this and I am not sure if this is suppose to happen or the machine has a problem. My previous Breville bread maker continually kneaded with no stopping until the 'rise' program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Breadmaker does that and there's nothing wrong with it. It stop for just a second or 2.
It's been doing it since I bought it 5 yrs ago and still works fine.
