I have a beautiful Zojurushi rice cooker, but I can't figure out the timer. Does setting it for 3:00 mean you want it to be done in 3 hours or at 3 pm? I have a feeling it's the former, since close to 3pm it didn't seem to have done anything. The directions just say to set it for when you want it to be done. Can a fellow Zoji user confirm?

Here is the Zojirushi website: Zojirushi Pick which one you have and then on the right side is a panel with an instruction manual, the Timer section was on about page 15of the one i looked at.

I read through three of the manuals at the site and the directions were clear. They are PDF files, take a look.

OK I finally read the fine print and realized they are using 24-hour time for this setting. As opposed to my bread machine, where if you set 3:00 it means it will start in 3 hours. That same setting on the Zoji would have the rice done at 3am.

Set it for 14:00 and your rice will be done, perfectly, at 2 p.m. Just like zulu time in the army.
