Hmnn.... I just came across this:

Marbled Chinese Tea Eggs - Faster! » hip pressure cooking

I love Chinese Tea Eggs, but haven't made them often as they take forever in the oven. This looks interesting. I'm going to give it a shot, anyone else want to give it a go?

If you are unfamiliar with tea eggs they are a pretty cool snack, also good for salads and make an out of the ordinary deviled egg!

I want to try this. The eggs sound tasty. I'll have to buy a 1/5 of gin because I can't find juniper berries.

Hey Foxy, just saw this thread. My Grandmother used to make them. I don't remember my mom making them but I do.

Only we used to call them Dragon Eggs! might be why I like them!

I simmer mine on the stove. I'll look up and post my recipe later. It is probably a bit different than yours. I have not had a chance to read your recipe yet.

They were mostly served at "Afternoon Teas" back in the day

It is an interesting recipe, have you had any 'hundred' year old eggs? I would say fresh spices are important, you want the spicy goodness to get into the blankslate of the egg
