Could have been a Nesco, Katie .... Mom didn't remember. I was too young to read cookware labels back then ... but I DO remember that cabinet ... my cousin was chasing me through the house and I almost knocked my brains out on it rounding the corner into the kitchen too fast to stop!

Didn't Nesco actually invent these things? Like Rival invented the CrockPot???

EDITED TO SAY:

Duh .... all I had to do was Google their home page .... yes, Nesco did invent it.

Am I wrong, or are we talking about 2 different types of roasters. I thought a roaster oven is an appliance that you can use for casseroles, meats, etc. just like a regular oven. there is also a large "crock pot" that may be called an oven, but really doesn't function the same way. My friend uses one of those for her Thanksgiving turkey and, although it tastes good, the skin is not browned and crisp like you would get from a regular oven. Another friend uses hers to make huge amounts of spaghetti sauce, chili etc.

Just wondering....
