Stove hood exhaust fan FILTER question

I have a real live, vent to the outdoors exhaust fan over my stove (1960s era).
It has two filters. One is a simple wire mesh filter, the other is some sort of fabric sandwiched between wire mesh.

I can't find replacements for either one.

What I am wondering is...

Is that fabric one really necessary? It significantly reduces the exhaust
capabilities of the fan....

Or is it keeping grease build up out of the vent pipe or something?

Is there another filter on the exhaust directly to the outside?

I have a hood vented to the outside as well and I have only the aluminum mesh type filter. Nothing else. Every two months, I take the filters out and run them through the washer. I also periodically take the main panel off the hood (horizontal panel above the stove top) and do a thorough cleaning.

I have to buy new filters (2) every 5 years or so.

Justplainbill... thanks! It's scary; I randomly clicked on a range hood number to see parts..... and picked MY hood!
Appears that the fabric/metal filter is "extra".
After a bit more perusal of the site you gave, I have discovered that the mystery filter is for NON-DUCTED range hoods.
Makes perfect sense!

It's nice to see that there are a fair amount of replacement parts for many of the old NuTone hoods. I bought 2 filters and some replacement knobs from / through this vendor in June.
