Ooooooh, watermelon sorbet would be so good. Can you make sorbet in a standard ice cream maker?

Yes, I've made sorbet in my ice cream maker. Follow any recipe you like, churn and finish in the freezer. It doesn't make granita because of the churning which makes the ice very smooth and you need granita to be rough and icy.
