Big Oven Software?

Has anyone tried the BigOven recipe software?

I did a bit of research on it. The Amazon reviews are positive (6 people rating it perfectly)

I downloaded the 30 day trial but I'm still only on my first day of use.

Has anyone used it long-term? I'd appreciate any opinions on it.

I also downloaded the cooking afficianado program but its about the quality that one would expect of a free program.

Glad you asked that Dove.
I agree about the free programs because my interest has grown to wanting more. I too have been checking, but something threw me off when I skimed over "BigOven". I have looked at a lot of them and am in no way ready to jump.
But what has captivated me is NYC, "Now Your Cooking".
http://www.ffts.com/apart.htm

It seems to accomodate the Import/Export formats I want and seemed to be the most-on-the-ball of any I have checked so far. Its priced good, buy once only, free updates forever and has good support.
I am thinking it will be one of the new "Standards" of a recipe program.
My main objection of it and all I have looked at is none of them will take on a good-looking Recipe Print on small cards.
I have just bought WordPerfect 12 for this purpose and even it has problems with such a print.
I will now include "BigOven" in my search.
Thanx

NYC is now my Pick !

Am back!
I went an looked again an remembered what I made me cautious about BigOven. It was the lack of clear instruction/choices everywhere.
If I was going to be using a hand-held "PDA" or "phone" etc for my Internet use, I might look a little closer. But otherwise, BigOven seems to have nothing that NYC does not have. Look:

I have made my decison now to go with the CD:

$30
Registration with FREE NYC upgrades
#3673

and if I later want a printed manual, $14, I can order it separately. Usually I can do with the free digital ones.
Thanx again Dove.
You helped me to make the jump.

My daughter gave me the Big Oven software for Christmas. It's called Deluxe Inspired Cooking - but it is Big Oven. I must admit I haven't had a lot of time to spend with it yet - but it looks like it will do lots of neat things.

Callie,
There is no free software out there that will even come close to what you now have.

Chat, I know that's true...I just need some time to figure it all out. I see I can plan menus, create shopping lists based on the menus, get all the nutritional info I want...it goes on and on. I'm excited!
