I just bought a cookbook by Ted Allen, one of the Fab Five of Queer Eyes for the Straight Guy. It's entitled 'The Food You Want to Eat'. I don't normally buy cookbooks but I like the show, I like Ted Allen, and the book contains many simple classy recipes and interesting practical advice on entertaining and serving. Plus the dust jacket had nice blurbs from my idols Mario Batali and Alton Brown. So how can the book be bad?
Turns out, the book is so interesting and enjoyable you'll read it from cover to cover. I learned some new tips. And there are already several recipes I can't wait to try out...
Best is that all the recipes are easy to do and yet will impress any guest...
I think a more apt title for this book is 'How to bluff your way as a chef".
